Lafayette Res Run Returns Sunday; Police Advise Of Road Closures

Mount Diablo Boulevard will be closed from Moraga Road to Paulson Court to accommodate the race.

LAFAYETTE, CA — The city of Lafayette will be closing streets for the Lafayette Reservoir Run, Sunday, Oct. 23, the Lafayette Police Department announced.

The road closures are from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and may vary depending on conditions, police said.

The course runs on Mount Diablo Boulevard between Moraga Road and Lafayette Reservoir; Mount Diablo Boulevard will be closed from Moraga Road to Paulson Court to accommodate the race.

According to police, one lane will remain open on Mt. Diablo Boulevard's north side between Happy Valley Road and El Nido Ranch Road for westbound local traffic with minimal delays. One lane on Mt. Diablo’s south side will remain open for eastbound traffic from Village Center to Mountain View Road for local traffic, with minimal delays during peak periods of race traffic.

Motorists will not be allowed to cross over Mt. Diablo Boulevard and must use coned detour lanes, police said.
