Look Up For This Lafayette Banner in September

A new design is approved. The city's monthly banner program is up for a statewide award.

It's going to be a (new) banner month in September for Lafayette.

The banner pictured is the new design approved to hang high on Mount Diablo Boulevard's streetlight poles in September. The city's Banner Advisory Committee approved the design last week, Lafayette City Manager Steve Falk reported in his latest email summary.

The city's banner program, with a change of banner every month, has been fluttering for a decade. The annual cost for design and maintenance is $25,000, Falk said.
