Moraga Man Arrested For Emeryville Auto Burglary

Police say he was already on probation for identity theft.

EMERYVILLE, CA — A 23-year-old man was arrested in Emeryville after officers on foot patrol allegedly found him sitting in a truck that did not belong to him, police said.

The officers were in the 1200 block of 65th Street and saw Alex Mills, a Moraga resident, in the passenger seat of a truck parked in front of a condominium complex, according to police.

The officers contacted Mills and learned the truck did not belong to him, then noticed the inside of the truck had been ransacked, police said.

Mills was on probation for identity theft and in a search, officers allegedly located personal information belonging to several different people. Officers also contacted the truck's owner and confirmed he did not know Mills or give him permission to be in the truck, police said.

Mills was arrested on suspicion of auto burglary, possession of stolen property and probation violation.
