Motorcyclist, 36, Killed Sunday Afternoon On I-680
The accident was near the Stone Valley Road exit.

A 36-year-old San Ramon man was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a tree off of Interstate Highway 680 in Alamo this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers responded to a report of an accident off of northbound Highway 680 at Stone Valley Road around 1:30 p.m., CHP Officer Ron Simmons said.
The man was driving a 2003 Yamaha RS motorcycle that went off the roadway and crashed into a tree, CHP officials said.

At one point both the on- and off-ramps at Stone Valley Road were closed, Simmons said.
The motorcycle ended up in a grass area between both ramps, according to Simmons. The ramps were reopened as of about 2:30 p.m., he said. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, according to the CHP.

The Contra Costa County coroner’s office has been called to the scene, Simmons said. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the CHP Contra Costa area office (925) 646-4980.
