Orinda Halloween Tot Parade Nixed, But 'Memory Lane' Pics Sought

The city's longstanding, kiddie parade is scrapped for 2020, but locals still can keep this year's spooky spirit alive.

ORINDA, CA — Orinda's annual Halloween Parade for Tots, a beloved tradition with costumed little ones parading in the community park, is canceled this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic. But city officials hope to keep the season's spirit alive with a virtual "memory lane" version — and they're seeking your pictures.

"We know things are vastly different this year, therefore sometimes it is even more important to maintain some sense of normalcy with treasured traditions," said Parks and Recreation Department reps. "We’re asking the community to share your most beloved Halloween photos with our department ... to virtually spread glee throughout the community."

Plans for a "Ghoulishly Virtual, Memory Lane Parade" are underway for the end of October, featuring a photo show on the city's social-media platforms.
