LAMORINDA, CA — November is off to a cold and rainy start in Lamorinda. A cold front from the Gulf of Alaska graced the Bay Area with some much-needed rain Tuesday morning. The front also brought high winds, overnight temperatures in the 30s and 40s, and even a dusting of snow in the Sierra, which on remained under a winter storm warning Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, the storm has mostly passed and moved south to the LA area, where rain and high winds were reported in the morning. Still, skies remained cloudy and showers were possible, according to AccuWeather.

In Orinda, 0.66 inches of rain were recorded Tuesday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Nearby, Dublin recorded 0.28 inches, Concord saw 0.29 inches and Mt. Diablo recorded 0.55 inches.

San Francisco recorded 0.30 inches, and Oakland recorded 0.25 inches.

Totals were generally highest at high elevations or near the coast, and lower inland.

Parts of the North Bay saw lower totals — just 0.19 inches in Novato and 0.08 inches in Petaluma — yet the highest recorded rainfall Tuesday was on Mt. Tamalpais, according to the National Weather Service.

More rain is forecast for next week, including on Election Day. In Lamorinda, there is a 58 percent chance of rain Saturday, a 25 percent chance Sunday, a 84 percent chance Monday, and a 67 percent chance Tuesday.
