Saint Mary's Communication Dept. presents celebrated writer Roxane Gay at 7 p.m Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Free, open to the public.

Saint Mary's Communication Department is pleased to welcome writer/professor/commentator Roxane Gay to campus Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 7 p.m. Ms. Gay's appearance is part of the Communication Departments ongoing Gender, Body, Technology speaker series.

Her recent book, "Bad Feminist," is a New York Times best-seller and highly regarded as a fresh take on the contemporary issue of gender and racial equality.

In a 2014 interview with Time magazine Gay explained her role as a feminist and how it has influenced her writing: “In each of these essays, I’m very much trying to show how feminism influences my life for better or worse. It just shows what it’s like to move through the world as a woman. It’s not even about feminism per se--it’s about humanity and empathy,” said Gay.
