Teens Can Register To Vote, Pre-Vote Via Text
The program begins Monday in contra Costa County.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – Teens in Contra Costa County will soon be able to register to vote
by using their smart phones, according to county elections officials.
Starting Monday, the county's high school-aged residents can text "2Vote" (28683) from their phones to receive a reply text with a link to the Contra Costa County Elections Division website.
The link will include a button that allows 18-year-olds to register to vote and 16- and 17-year-olds to pre-register.

The site will also include a mock election in which students can vote on some "high school age specific questions," according to elections officials.
