Terraces of Lafayette

Steven Falk's recent 'City Manager's Update - What's Doing in Lafayette' misrepresented the facts of the City Council meeting last Monday night on the Terraces.  The biggest mistake is in the number of people for and against the project.  The number was NOT 50/50, or anywhere close. Maybe 1/4 was FOR, and many of the people in the 'FOR' the new Terraces project were self-admitted friends of the developer.   See the recent post from Falk:

Mr. Falk and Ann Merideth (since left Lafayette) were in charge when the property was requested to be re-zoned in 2010 by the City Council and Planning Commission for 5-7 single family homes, and this re-zone was delayed by staff for 18 months, in which time the Terraces proposal came in.

It was his delay that caused us to be even talking about these problems now, and his eagerness to try to be the Knight in Shining Armor with this new proposal is not to be mis-understood.  We must keep the facts straight and keep his words in check.
