Two Seats Open in Orinda City Council Election in November
With two terms coming to an end, Orindans wonder what, if any, changes are in store for their city council.
Both Mayor Steve Glazer and council member Victoria Smith’s terms are up this year, leaving two seats open for the taking in the November city council election.
Recent issues in Orinda have ranged from to road repairs. The downtown development plan has been a point of debate over the years as well, both at city council meetings and amongst the people of Orinda.
Maureen McLarnon of Orinda said she’s really against high-rise buildings in Orinda, and that the issue was something she will take into consideration when voting in the upcoming city council election.

The nomination period for the Orinda City Council is from Monday July 16 to Friday August 10 at 5 p.m., but will be extended to August 15 if an incumbent does not file within this time period. Candidates must be registered to vote in Orinda.
The people of Orinda have a chance to change the future — or not — on election day, Nov. 6.
