4 Cities, 2 Banks, And 2 Men: Bank Robbery Manhunt Near Lafayette Schools Ends
Police pursued two suspects in a bank robbery, and an attempted second one, across Alamo and Danville, and finally Lafayette.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA ā Police arrested two suspects after a robbery in Alamo ā and an attempted robbery in Lafayette ā following a search that closed down streets near two local schools.
Deputies with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office responded at 1 p.m. to a reported bank robbery in the 3100 block of Danville Boulevard in Alamo.
Danville Police Department identified a license plate linked to the vehicle and began searching the area. At the same time, Lafayette police spotted the suspect outside a bank in the 3600 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard, where an attempted robbery was happening. The suspect fled to a waiting vehicle that drove toward Lafayette Circle. Officers later located the vehicle abandoned nearby.

Police shut down streets from Moraga Road at Brook Street to Lafayette Circleānear Stanley Middle School and Lafayette Elementary School ā shortly after 1 p.m. Streets reopened about 2:40 p.m. after police found two suspects near East Street and Brook Street.
The two men are Antioch residents. Authorities said evidence linked both men to the Lafayette attempted robbery and the earlier Alamo robbery. Police found a replica Glock-style firearm in a backpack.

Both suspects were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of robbery, attempted robbery, and two counts of conspiracy. Bail has been set at $200,000 for one suspect and $150,000 for the second.
Authorities from another law enforcement agency are investigating a similar incident reported shortly before the Alamo robbery.
