Restoration Hardware Expanding Eastward
The Corte Madera-based purveyor of luxury furniture, lighting and other goods has reportedly signed a 15-year lease to occupy a historic Post Office building in Greenwich, Conn.

A historic former United States Post Office building in Greenwich, Conn., which the , will soon be home to Restoration Hardware.
According to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal, the Corte Madera-based purveyor of luxury furniture, lighting and other goods, with about 90 locations in the U.S. and Canada, for the 17,400 square foot neoclassical building, which has been a landmark on The Avenue since 1917.
Restoration Hardware currently has a store located at 239 Greenwich Avenue.

According to the report, the Malkins have submitted plans to expand a 1936 addition on the now vacant building in order to create a landscaped courtyard. They also plan to build a deck on the building's second floor. The Planning & Zoning Commission will be reviewing those plans in July, the report states.
The proposed modifications will also have to be reviewed by the state, as the building is listed in the the National Register of Historic Places.
