1 Dead in Shooting in Emerald Hills Park

Two teenage boys are suspected of opening fire on a man who was working on his car, San Diego police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA: An investigation was under way into a daytime shooting that killed a 46-year-old man Sunday in Emerald Hills Park.

The victim was working on a vehicle alongside Bethune Court near Kelton Road when two teens walked up and opened fire around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police Lt. Manny Del Toro said. A dark Nissan-type vehicle was seen speeding away from the area shortly after, but it was not immediately clear whether the suspects were inside.

Officers sent to the scene were told that someone had already taken victim to a hospital. He was later transferred to a second hospital via ambulance and died a short time later from gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to the lieutenant. His name was not immediately available.
