After a nationwide search and multiple interview rounds, the City Council is set to formally approve his agreement at its Sept. 1 meeting, locking in leadership after months of transition.
   

• County Loan Fund Proposal Could Add Capital for Santee Small Businesses (santeepulse.com) — Lemon Grove small businesses could soon tap into a new county-backed revolving loan fund aimed at East County companies that struggle to get traditional financing. Under a proposal going to county supervisors Sept. 1, the Empower East County Business Fund would offer capital for working expenses, equipment, improvements, and job growth in Lemon Grove and neighboring cities.
