Mayor Alysson Snow has been tapped to lead San Diego County's new Consumer Fairness and Public Protection unit, which will target scams, hidden fees, unsafe products, unfair insurance denials and pollution, drawing on her long background in consumer protection law.
• 'They need a bridge.' County leaders approve revolving loan program for small businesses (fresnobee.com) — Small businesses in Lemon Grove will soon be able to tap a new revolving loan fund aimed at those who struggle to qualify for traditional financing. Backed by county and federal dollars, the program will offer $1,000 to $50,000 loans for working capital, equipment, upgrades, expansion and job creation, with local administration and access to small-business advising.
