• Third Suspect Arrested In East County Assaults (patch.com) — Lemon Grove residents are learning that deputies have arrested a third suspect linked to a February assault on Broadway that left three people injured, including a man found unconscious on a bus bench. Investigators say the suspect and two others are accused of beating the man and attacking a woman and her daughter at gunpoint, with all three now facing serious felony charges in county jail.
   

• Life Sentence Issued in Lemon Grove Home Invasion Robbery Case (santeepulse.com) — Lemon Grove neighbors now have closure in a violent home invasion case that shook the community back in 2017, as one of the robbers has been sentenced to life in prison without parole. Prosecutors say the man took part in robberies in City Heights and Lemon Grove, including a struggle on Edding Drive where one suspect was killed and a resident's son was seriously wounded.
   

• Community Development Block Grant 2027- 2028 (California) (fundsforngos.org) — Lemon Grove organizations and residents are reminded that while the county's new Community Development Block Grant application window is open, projects based in Lemon Grove must apply through the city's own CDBG program instead. The county funds will focus on unincorporated areas, supporting affordable housing, homelessness services, public facilities, and economic development for low- and moderate-income communities across San Diego County.
