Arraignment Tuesday: Accused Fatal Hit-And-Run Driver Tied to Little Italy Crash

A 21-year-old man accused of a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian near Little Italy last week is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday.

SAN DIEGO - A 21-year-old man arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian near Little Italy last week is scheduled to be arraigned today at the downtown courthouse.

David Dominguez is suspected of being behind the wheel of a speeding white SUV that struck 50-year-old Garold Crosbie as he crossed Pacific Highway at West Laurel Street at about 11:20 p.m. last Thursday, according to San Diego police. The SUV continued west from Laurel Street onto North Harbor Drive after the crash, police said.

Crosbie, who authorities said appeared to a transient, died at the accident scene.

Investigators found a damaged SUV on Brooklyn Avenue in Encanto and arrested Dominguez about 7:30 a.m. the next morning. He was booked into jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run and driving under the influence. Bail was set at $100,000 pending arraignment.
