City of Lemon Grove Joins Instagram

Account followers are asked to become familiar with the city's social media terms of use.

The city of Lemon Grove is now on Instagram.

According to an email notification sent Thursday, the city, which already had Facebook and Twitter accounts, has added an Instagram account.

The move is part of its effort to provide information of interest to the Lemon Grove community, according to a post on the city website.

"Social media is also a great way for the community to learn about and participate in city government," the website states.

City officials asked followers to become familiar with its social media terms of use to help ensure its sites are safe and productive places to be.

"The city’s presences on social media sites serve as moderated online information exchanges about city services, issues, news and events and are not intended as a public forum," the website states.

The city says it reserves the right to delete submissions if they:

  • Do not directly relate to city services, issues, news and events
  • Contain links that do not directly relate to city services, issues, news and events
  • Promote specific commercial entities, causes, products, candidates for office or political organizations
  • Infringe on third party intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks or the social media site’s terms of use; or we receive notice that a submission may infringe on the intellectual property rights of third parties
  • Include personal attacks on any individual
  • Contain profanity, erotica or pornography
  • Convey racial, political or religious views
  • Promote illegal activity
