Editor's Choice: Halloween Book o' the Day for Kids

So many great Halloween-themed books for children; so little time remaining until the Big Day!

Every year when we get out the Halloween decorations, we also bring out our special collection of Halloween books. No matter that my kids are now teenagers: we still climb in bed and read one out loud every night.

Here's one my children love: Room on the Broom, by Julia Donaldson. Deceptively simple, on the surface it's a story about a soft-hearted witch who has room on her broom for everyone who wants to come along for a ride, from a cat, to a frog, to a parrot and more.

In the end, however, it's a parable about friendship and teamwork. Shhh, don't tell the kids there's a moral lesson involved! It's a sweet story either way.
