Fire Burns Near Trolley Tracks in Lemon Grove

Lemon Grove, CA — A brush fire broke out Tuesday afternoon near the trolley tracks in Lemon Grove, briefly affecting trolley service.

Heartland Fire and Rescue reported at 2:17 p.m. that the fire was at Lemon Grove Avenue and Mt. Vernon Street, alongside the MTS trolley tracks.

Cal Fire San Diego crews responded to help Heartland firefighters battle the blaze.

Just after 2:30 p.m., MTS reported that Orange Line trolley service between Massachusetts and Spring Street had returned to normal.

Patch was not immediately able to reach Heartland for more information about the fire.
