Homelessness Again on Lemon Grove Council's Agenda

The city has identified the issue as a priority.

Homelessness will again be discussed by Lemon Groves Council, which has made the issue a part of its list of priorities.

Councilmembers are scheduled to hear a panel of experts discuss data and trends on homelessness in Lemon Grove and the San Diego County region during the Oct. 1 meeting, according to a staff report.

  • Dolores R. Diaz, Regional Task Force on the Homeless
  • Dr. Patricia Leslie, Continuum of Care
  • Jennifer LeSar, representing the United Way
  • Kim Forrester, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency

The panel will give presentations on the data and trends, programs and services offered to homeless community members, and β€œbest practices for City Council consideration,” officials said.

The City Council set the issue of homelessness as a priority during a workshop in held earlier this year. Earlier this year, the council voted to support the β€œKeys to Housing Toolbox,” a program that provides the city a number of suggestions on how to help those in need.

Council meetings are held 6 p.m. at the Lemon Grove Community Center, 3146 School Lane.
