La Mesa Man Nabbed After Allegedly Chasing 2 With Knife
San Diego PD helicopter and police dog assisted with arrest.

A man on Sunday chased two people with a knife in La Mesa, then was arrested.
Elijah Rivers, 20, of La Mesa, was to be booked into the San Diego Central Jail on one count of suspicion assault with a deadly weapon, said Sgt. Scott Hildebrand of the La Mesa Police Department.
One of the people Rivers allegedly chased, a male, received minor injuries but it is unclear whether a knife caused those, Hildebrand said. The other victim, a female, was unharmed.

The violence began around 2 p.m., police were called to the 7700 block of Orien Avenue in response to a domestic-related dispute. Rivers, Hildebrand said, was reported chasing people on the street in front of a residence before he fled.
La Mesa police, assisted by a San Diego Police helicopter and police dog, pursued Rivers to the 4600 block of Date Avenue, where he was caught at 2:28 p.m., Hildebrand said.
