Lemon Grove Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Encanto Stabbing

A 20-year-old man has been booked on suspicion of murdering the 44-year-old Lemon Grove man, San Diego police said. Breaking.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A Lemon Grove man has been identified as the victim in a fatal stabbing Sunday in Encanto, and the man who allegedly killed him has turned himself in, according to San Diego police.

Robert Acevedo, 44, of Lemon Grove, was found about 12:30 a.m. Sunday unconscious with stab wounds to his upper torso in front of a residence at 1037 Evelyn St., according to San Diego police Lt. Manny Del Toro.

Patrol officers responded and found a witness doing CPR on Acevedo.

"Patrol officers took over CPR and life-saving measures were continued by medics, who arrived a short time later," Del Toro said. "Despite their efforts, the stabbing victim was pronounced dead at the scene."

Police learned that prior to the stabbing, residents heard an argument, went outside to investigate and saw the two men fighting, then one of the men take off in a vehicle, Del Toro said.

The suspect, 20-year-old Miguel Ramos, turned himself in Monday to homicide detectives at the San Diego Police Headquarters building at 1401 Broadway in San Diego, Del Toro said.

"Detectives learned that Acevedo and Ramos knew each other prior to their fight on Sunday and they have had an ongoing dispute," Del Toro said.

Ramos was booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of one count of murder.
