Let's Read Together: Early Literacy Workshop for Parents

Let's Read Together is a 3 week early literacy program that helps parents of infants, toddlers and preschoolers prepare their children for successful lifelong learning. Classes are from 9-10:30am on Thursdays, February 6, 13 and 20, 2014.

Through the program you will:

  • Learn how to interact with your children in ways that promote enjoyment, self confidence and a joy of learning.
  • Understand the importance of early literacy and the skills and knowledge your children need to be successful learners.
  • Learn about your important role in your children's early literacy development and later school success.
  • Learn to use simple strategies and activities to enhance early literacy development.
  • Learn effective read aloud techniques and use them to read every day to your children.
  • Free Childcare will be be provided for children 0-5 years of age.
  • Receive light refreshments
You will participate in:
  • Fun, engaging, hands-on activities
  • Learn and practice different ways to tell a story
  • Free book given at each class
