Man Breaks Into Lemon Grove Home, Sexually Assaults Girl

LEMON GROVE, CA – An unidentified man broke into an East County home early Thursday and sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl, authorities said.

A relative of the victim discovered the intruder in the home around 2 a.m. in the 7000 block of Canton Drive in Lemon Grove, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. After the family member tried to restrain him, the assailant ran out of the home and fled the area, possibly on a skateboard.

The suspect was described as a thin, roughly 5-foot-7 black man. He appeared to be in his early to mid-20s, authorities said. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and black gym pants.
