Pedestrian Struck, Killed on State Route 94: UPDATE
The person was walking on the freeway near 25th Street, authorities said.

SAN DIEGO, CA: A 49-year-old man was struck and killed while walking in traffic on state Route 94 near the Golden Hill neighborhood, authorities said Tuesday.
Someone called the California Highway Patrol around 10 p.m. Monday to report that a man was walking in the westbound lanes approaching 25th Street. Moments later, he was struck by a white 2002 Hyundai Accent traveling about 65 miles per hour, CHP Officer Tony Contreras said.
Investigators were looking into why the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, dashed from the center divider into traffic, the officer said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

The 26-year-old San Diego woman behind the wheel of the Hyundai stopped after the crash and called for help, according to the officer.
The accident prompted authorities to temporarily close lanes and a nearby onramp, according to the CHP.
