When deputies caught up to the vehicle in the area of Dayton and Skyline drives a short time later, the driver refused to yield and sped off, running a red light in the process, Lt. Jason Vickery said.

Within moments, the teen driving the pickup lost control of it, sending the vehicle careening off the street and into a palm tree alongside Alton Drive. Three occupants then jumped out of the truck and ran off, but soon were detained along with the other four, Vickery said.
