LEMON GROVE, CA – A vehicle crashed into a power pole Thursday morning in Lemon Grove, knocking out power to more than 1,200 San Diego Gas & Electric customers and at least one elementary school in the area, authorities said.

The school will operate on a minimum day schedule and release students at 1:28 p.m. regardless of whether the power has been restored at that point, campus officials said.
As of 10 a.m., all 1,225 customers remained without power, but crews estimated the pole would be replaced and power restored by around noon, Torres said.
