Road Closures For 2019 Livermore Half Marathon

The popular marathon and festival, which draws thousands from all over the country, will take place on Sunday.

LIVERMORE, CA — Several roads will be closed this weekend during the 2019 Livermore Half Marathon and festival. On March 3, several thousand runners from all over the country are expected to participate in the annual race, which will start at 7 a.m. and end around 11 a.m. Sunday. The downtown corridor will be closed from 3 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Police shared the following information:

  • The run will start downtown, and then it will travel southbound on S. L Street/Arroyo Road to Sycamore Grove Park (Note: S. L Street will be in high use during the event from approximately 6:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., and Arroyo Road will also be used between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.).
  • The run will return downtown, mostly via pedestrian pathways and S. L Street, and should be finished between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Police ask motorists to use Railroad Avenue, Holmes Street, and Maple Street as alternative routes around the downtown area. Police said when road closures are in effect, traffic will not be able to cross over them. Click here to see the full course map. Race details here.
