50-Year-Old Livermore Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash
The fatal collision Tuesday afternoon came hours after a separate motorcycle crash on I-580 near Dublin, where CHP is seeking witnesses.
LIVERMORE, CA — A 50-year-old Livermore woman died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday, according to the Livermore Police Department. The woman was identified by the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau as Janelle Benson Weispfenning, according to Bay City News.
On Tuesday at around 1 p.m., Livermore police responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Isabel Avenue and Stanley Boulevard, the department said. Officers arrived to find a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries, and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
Benson Weispfenning was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicates that she was traveling northbound on Isabel Avenue, and failed to stop at a red light before entering the intersection, according to police. She collided with a newer gray sedan turning left to travel southbound on Isabel Avenue.
The driver of the sedan, an 87-year-old woman from Pleasanton, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. She has since been released, and is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.

Earlier Tuesday morning, a motorcyclist crashed with a truck on I-580 eastbound, near San Ramon Boulevard and Foothill Road in Dublin. The motorcyclist was knocked down, but was able to stand up, according to a CHP log.
CHP said Wednesday that it is looking for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact 925-828-0466. They posted a photo of a busted motorcycle lying in the middle of the freeway.
