DUI Arrests, Heavy Traffic On Super Bowl Sunday, CHP Says
The freeways became congested for a couple of hours after the game was over, according to the Dublin CHP office.
TRI-VALLEY, CA — The California Highway Patrol's Dublin branch said it arrested six drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence on Super Bowl Sunday.
The Pleasanton Police Department and Dublin Police Department also reported one Sunday DUI arrest each.
Freeways became very congested after the game was over. Traffic started around 8 p.m. and lasted for a couple of hours, said CHP Officer Tyler Hahn in an email.

Three people died in drunk driving crashes last year on Super Bowl Sunday, CHP said in a statement. CHP made 187 arrests that day and 140 injuries were reported.
“Driving impaired is completely preventable,” CHP Commissioner Warren Stanley said in the statement. “Lives are on the line. Not only are innocent people at risk, impaired drivers stand to lose money, their freedom, their license, and their vehicle.”

CHP asks anyone who sees drunk drivers to call 911.
