AAA 'Tipsy Tow' Available For July 4th Revelers

No need to be an AAA member to use the free program. Stay safe: Don't drink and drive!

BAY AREA, CA – AAA Northern California is offering its free "Tipsy Tow" service for Bay Area Fourth of July partiers who have too much to drink.

The service begins at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, and runs through 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 5.

Participants need not be AAA members to qualify for the program, which provides 10 miles of free towing for a driver, one passenger and their vehicle. Any additional miles are subject to a standard towing rate. Tipsy Tow does not take reservations.

To use the service, drivers, passengers, party hosts, bartenders and/or restaurant managers should:

• Call 1-800-AAA-HELP (1-800-222-4357)
• State that they need a “Tipsy Tow.”
• Provide the driver’s name, home address, phone number and vehicle/driver location.

AAA was recently named a California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblyman Jim Frazier for its long history of community service and traffic safety programs, including Tipsy Tow.

“Traffic safety has long been an issue that’s near and dear to my heart, and I fully support AAA’s efforts to raise awareness about critical issues and distribute important resources to our most vulnerable communities,” Jim Frazier said.
