LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department arrested five suspects accused of wearing masks and breaking into vehicles.
On Thursday, June 18 at around 2:30 a.m., LPD dispatch received multiple calls from residents in the Lakeside Circle and Old Oak Road area to report several masked individuals breaking into cars, the department said.
LPD coordinated with the California Highway Patrol and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office to contain the area between Holmes Street and Arroyo Road, where the most recent burglary occurred.
During the search, Livermore officers reportedly observed a silver sedan traveling at a high rate of speed near Normandy Way and Rhone Court. At approximately 3:07 a.m., officers located the vehicle as it exited Normandy Way onto eastbound Concannon Boulevard. Officers conducted a traffic stop at Tesla Road and Concannon Boulevard, and five suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Police say they found stolen property in the suspect vehicle, and two suspects admitted their involvement in the burglaries. Dispatch personnel were able to identify one of the victims, and officers returned a set of stolen golf clubs.
