LIVERMORE, CA — A 38-year-old from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of possessing more than 80 pounds of cannabis in his car, according to the Livermore Police Department.
On July 16, police conducted a traffic enforcement stop on North Livermore Avenue. The driver, 38-year-old Haris Yonisi of Oakland, admitted to having cannabis in the car. A probable cause search led to the discovery of more than 80 pounds of cannabis, police said, and Yonisi was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to distribute.
In California, adults 21 and over are allowed to possess 28.5 grams of cannabis, or 0.0625 pounds. Unlicensed possession for sale remains illegal.
