LIVERMORE, CA — Tri-Valley Haven distributed over 1,000 backpacks to local students through its annual Backpack Drive.

Backpack distributions took place July 30 at the Lynnewood United Methodist Church and Aug. 1 at the Robert Livermore Community Center, where local families received backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. The backpacks were donated by community members, businesses, faith organizations, volunteers, and community partners in order to help students start the school year prepared and supported.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this year's Backpack Drive such a success," said Carla, director of Homeless Services at Tri-Valley Haven. "Every backpack represents more than school supplies. It represents a community coming together to support local students and families. We are so thankful to our donors, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who helped make sure 1,000 students could begin the school year with a little extra support."

Tri-Valley Haven offers shelter, counseling, and support services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and homeless in the Tri-Valley area. Visit trivalleyhaven.org for more information.
