Livermore Teen Killed In Monterey Crash, Dublin Driver Suspected Of DUI

Authorities identified a 19-year-old Livermore resident killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday.

LIVERMORE, CA — A 19-year-old Livermore man killed following a Sunday crash in Monterey was identified by authorities, according to reports.

Jerrod Tyson Chapman-Marshall died in Salinas Sunday following a single-car crash near Monterey, according to the Monterey County coroner's office. At around 5:14 p.m., Monterey officers responded to a report of a vehicle injury accident at Barnett Segal and Iris Canyon Road, just south of Route 1, according to the Monterey Police Department.

Officers found that a single vehicle containing a total of four people had left the roadway and struck a tree. All four passengers were transferred to a nearby hospital. The driver and two other passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Chapman-Mashall did not survive. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his mother.

"Jerrod was only 19 years old, with so much life still ahead of him, and his sudden passing has left Bonnie, her family, and everyone who loved him in deep shock and heartbreak. No parent should ever have to endure a loss like this, and the grief Bonnie is carrying right now is unimaginable," the page said. Donations will go toward funeral and memorial expenses, meals, time away from work, and other costs that may arise.

The campaign also includes a space to share photos and memories of Jerrod.

The driver was identified as 20-year-old Sebastian Feliciano of Dublin. Police say Feliciano showed signs of impairment, and a preliminary alcohol screening test determined his blood alcohol content was over .13%. In California, drivers under 21 are prohibited from having a BAC of .01% or higher.

Feliciano was hospitalized and receiving medical treatment as of Wednesday.

Police said that investigators will be pursuing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter against Feliciano. Investigators also believe that Feliciano's 2009 silver BMW coupe convertible traveled from Carmel to Monterey and was involved in reckless driving incidents prior to the collision.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Ethan Andrews at 831-646-3822, or submit an anonymous tip via 831-646-3840.
