• 'A common purpose over division': Democrat Wahab sworn into Congress with bipartisan aspirations (pleasantonweekly.com) — Livermore residents will now be represented in Congress by Democrat Aisha Wahab, recently sworn in to complete Eric Swalwell's term in District 14. She emphasizes bipartisan cooperation and draws on her background as an Afghan American and former foster youth, while preparing to face Melissa Hernandez again in November for a full two-year term.
• Contra Costa Teens Team Up to Help Families Living With Type 1 Diabetes (contracosta.news) — Families in Livermore can join the Breakthrough T1D NorCal Community Games at Da Boccery on Sunday, Sept. 27, to support type 1 diabetes research while enjoying bocce, cornhole, arcade games and more. Two East Bay teens living with T1D are helping lead the event, which aims to raise $60,000 for research and advocacy benefiting people with the condition.
• Rigatoni's restaurant closes for good in Dublin after 27 years (danvillesanramon.com) — A longtime Dublin Rigatoni's has closed after 27 years, but the restaurant group is steering loyal diners toward its remaining locations, including Strizzi's in downtown Livermore. For Livermore residents, that means your nearby Strizzi's is now even more central to the brand's future, as other Tri-Valley sites have shut down in recent years.
