LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District is the ninth best school district in Alameda County, according to ranking website Niche.
LVJUSD ranked 23rd in the Bay Area and 93rd in California.

The district received an overall grade of A, based on quantitative data and parent and student surveys. Its academics, teachers, and college prep all received an A, and it received an A- in diversity. Its lowest score was for food and resources & facilities, which both received a C.
Granada High School was ranked the 18th best public high school in Alameda County. It received an overall grade of A, with an A for diversity, and an A- for academics and college prep.
Livermore High School received an overall grade of A-, with an A in diversity, an A- for teachers and college prep, and a B+ for academics.
Nearby, Pleasanton Unified School District received an overall grade of A+, and was ranked 2nd in Alameda County, 5th in the Bay Area, and 17th in California. Dublin Unified School District also scored an overall grade of A+, and was ranked 4th in Alameda County, 14th in the Bay Area, and 43rd in California. San Ramon Valley Unified School Districtwas ranked the second best school district in Contra Costa County, the 9th best in the Bay Area, and 27th in California.
Palo Alto Unified School District was ranked the best school district in the Bay Area, overtaking Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District. La Cañada Unified School District was ranked the best in California, while Glenbrook High School District 225 in suburban Chicago was ranked the best school district in the nation.
Rankings are calculated based on academic performance, input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education.
