Zephyr's Bar & Grill, Beloved Livermore Restaurant, To Close After 22 Years (patch.com) โ Longtime favorite Zephyr Bar & Grill in downtown Livermore will close on Oct. 31 after 22 years, following a difficult year that included a fire and an unsuccessful attempt to sell the business. Owners Lynn and Randy Tei thanked Livermore residents for making the restaurant a community hub for celebrations and everyday gatherings, while local leaders praised Zephyr's lasting impact on the downtown area.

2. In Livermore, Lam Opens Its Largest Warehouse in US (independentnews.com) โ Lam Research has opened its largest U.S. warehouse just south of Livermore Municipal Airport, consolidating California logistics in a 470,000-square-foot hub expected to create up to 200 jobs by 2027. The facility sits in the new OMP Oaks Business Park, annexed by the Livermore City Council, with studies projecting manageable traffic and noise impacts for nearby residents.

3. Dublin, Pleasanton Animal Shelter Costs Rise After Livermore Pulls Out (patch.com) โ Livermore's decision to leave a shared animal shelter agreement and contract with East Bay SPCA has shifted more of the East County Animal Shelter's costs onto Dublin and Pleasanton. Livermore animals now go to a specialized facility on Gleason Drive in Dublin, while Dublin's council weighs a new, shorter-term deal with Alameda County to keep shelter services running.

Tri-Valley Leaders Tackle Local Homelessness Issue (independentnews.com) โ Regional leaders are spotlighting how Livermore is tackling homelessness through affordable housing, including a 130-unit Downtown Livermore Apartments project set to break ground in February 2027. The city has permitted 908 units toward its state housing target, mostly for moderate and above-moderate incomes, while advocates push for deeply affordable units and wraparound services to keep newly housed residents stable.
