NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — Roughly 12,200 customers throughout 17 Northern California counties could lose power beginning Friday due to elevated wildfire risk conditions, PG&E said.
The forecast calls for low humidity and winds gusting between 30 and 45 mph Saturday, with gusts reaching 55 mph in parts of the Northern Sierra. Elevated wildfire risk could last till Monday.
To reduce the risk of power lines sparking wildfires, PG&E notified customers in the following counties that they could be affected by a Public Safety Power Shutoff. The shutoffs are not certain, and will depend on weather conditions.
