Anonymous Neighbor Gives $3,000 To Struggling Business Owners
The shelter-in-place order was devastating for a longtime Livermore business. Then a surprise turned up on the owners' doorstep.

LIVERMORE, CA — After 13 years of running Livermore Martial Arts Academy and serving hundreds of local kids, the stay-at-home order and pandemic had thrust owners Eric B. and his wife into "the most stressful time of our lives," he said.
But on Monday, a woman came to their front door and handed them an envelope that she said was from a mutual friend who wanted to remain anonymous. They opened the envelope and found $3,000 in cash with a card that read "Mr. and Mrs. B ... You are loved. Thanks for all you do for the community!"
The gesture came at a time when they said they worried their business would be a casualty of the pandemic's economic fallout. Mr. B. said the studio's closure has meant a loss of income to his family and workers — and they still must pay rent for their shuttered business.

The unexpected act of kindness left them emotional and speechless, he said.
"Our faith in God has been what has gotten us through this tough time and this was just evidence of His love and faithfulness to us," Mr. B. wrote. "We are so thankful to this generous person for blessing us and helping us through this unimaginable situation."
