BREAKING: Barricaded Suspect in Oakland Believed to be Connected to Livermore Homicide

Officers are trying to talk the suspect into surrendering.

Oakland police are involved in a standoff this evening with a barricaded suspect who is wanted for a homicide in another city, police said. The standoff is in the 8400 block of Edes Avenue, according to police.

Multiple police sources say the suspect is believed to be 18-year-old Jason Alexander Brown of Oakland, who is suspected to have shot two men in their 20s sitting in a car in the CVS pharmacy parking lot at 1500 First St. in Livermore in October. One man in his 20s died and another man in his 20s was injured and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for multiple gunshot wounds.

Livermore detectives obtained a no-bail warrant for Jason Brown’s arrest for one count of murder and one count of attempted murder soon after the shooting.

Livermore Police officials have not yet been reached for comment.
