Beloved Livermore Café Closes
A popular café by the airport served its last customers Monday following an emotional goodbye.
LIVERMORE, CA — "I'll miss the hell out of you guys," Jake Palmer said in an Instagram message announcing that his namesake café near Livermore Municipal Airport would close. The restaurant marked its last day Monday by offering free breakfast burritos to anyone who stopped by.
"This place is so special to me. I've raised three kids doing this, and was able to do what I truly love to do. I'm ready for a break. I need to focus on my health, and I'm ready to start a new chapter with new adventures to learn from," said Palmer, a Granada High School graduate who returned to Livermore in 2014 to start his own restaurant after cooking at several high-end restaurants in Florida and the Bay Area.
"We're so grateful for the love and support this community has shown us over the years," Palmer said in a post. "You've made this place more than a café - you made it a home."
