Bikeway Fire Near Livermore Chars 25 Acres

LIVERMORE, CA — A brush fire that broke out on the 4th of July near Bethany Reservoir just outside Livermore was halted at 25 acres, Cal Fire reported late Thursday evening. The agency along with Alameda County Fire responded to the scene on Christensen Road late Thursday and said the blaze—dubbed the Bikeway Fire—was being fueled by wind. Crews were able to stop the blaze's forward progress, and by early Friday morning crews were mopping up. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
