Board Awards Contract For Playground Renovation Projects

Each playground will have its own theme, based in part on the community feedback that the District received.

From LARPD: At a regular meeting Wednesday night, the Board of Directors for the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District awarded the contract for the construction of the Multi Park Playground Renovation Projects at Jane Addams Preschool at Max Baer Park, Big Trees Park, Pleasure Island Park and May Nissen Park to Goodland Landscape Construction, Inc., in the amount of $5,482,614, contingent upon evaluation of financially feasible additive bid items. Each playground will have its own theme, based in part on the community feedback that the District received; the Jane Addams Preschool playground theme will be nature and community play, the Big Trees playground theme will be trees, the Pleasure Island playground will be railroads and agriculture, and the May Nissen playground theme will be storytelling and fairytales. Staff provided a brief history of the projects as well as a financial overview, including a short PowerPoint presentation. The Board also rejected two bids that were filedas non-responsive.

The Board also adopted the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Final Operating Budget, with total revenues and expenditures of $22,017,048, as presented by Administrative Services Manager Jeffrey Schneider and Financial Analyst Julie Dreher. Similarly, the Fiscal Years 2018-2021 Final Capital Improvement Plan Budget was adopted at $20,063,124 for Priority A and B projects.
