Brush Fire Near I-580 In Livermore Contained
Smoke was visible from a brush fire that broke out Thursday near Interstate 580 in Livermore.

LIVERMORE, CA — A brush fire that broke out in Livermore early Thursday afternoon off Interstate 580, between North Livermore Avenue and First Street, has been fully contained.
Just after 1 p.m. a Sigalert was issued for eastbound I-580, just east of N. Livermore Ave. At least one lane of traffic was closed, according to the California Highway Patrol, which advised the Sigalert could remain in place for up to two hours.
The brusher did threaten nearby auto dealerships, but crews prevented the blaze from reaching the businesses, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Dan Moyles said. There was no damage or injuries reported.

The brusher burned between 3 and 3.5 acres, Moyles said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
