Brush Fire Jumped, Shut Down I-580 Early Friday Morning
The fire began as a car fire and was ultimately contained at 220 acres, officials said.

LIVERMORE, CA — I-580 near the Altamont Pass was closed early Friday morning after a car fire turned into a brush fire that jumped the freeway.
The fire was declared a two-alarm fire after it jumped the road and another five engines arrived on scene, according to Alameda County Fire.
The fire started just before midnight and the road reopened at 4:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
