Brush Fire Near Lawrence Livermore National Lab Contained: Cal Fire

A 50-acre brush fire broke out near the lab late Wednesday night as the area battled gusts of up to 55 mph.

LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters contained a 50-acre brush fire that began Wednesday night near the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Site 300 at 15999 Corral Hollow Road, Cal Fire Santa Clara said on Twitter.

The fire broke out at around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to tweets from Cal Fire and the Alameda County Fire Department. The Corral Fire, which began as the area east of Livermore and southwest of Tracy was reporting gusts of up to 55 mph, spread to 50 acres before Cal Fire reported it fully contained at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday.

No injuries were reported, and no buildings were damaged, Bay City News said.
