Brush Fire Near Livermore Halts I-580 Traffic, Sigalert Issued

The 6-acre blaze was contained shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to Cal Fire.

LIVERMORE, CA — A small brush fire on the righthand shoulder of westbound I-580 at Grant Line Road, just east of Livermore in the Altamont area, halted traffic Tuesday afternoon. The blaze was first reported at approximately 1:30 p.m. and the California Highway Patrol issued a Sigalert for the westbound side of the freeway.

Shortly after 2 p.m., Cal Fire reported that the 6-acre blaze was contained but crews are expected to remain in the area for several hours.

The Sigalert was cancelled at 2:35 p.m. and all lanes on the I-580 were reopened, according to the CHP.

There were no reports of injuries. The fire remains under investigation.
