Breaking: A 35-year-old Livermore man has been arrested, accused of stabbing his mother and grandmother.
LIVERMORE, CA — An 85-year-old Livermore grandmother died after she and her 62-year-old daughter were seriously injured by a family member who allegedly stabbed them each multiple times with a kitchen knife, police officials said. According to police, 35-year-old Tyler Haskell, who suffers from various mental illnesses, was arrested a short time later in connection with the stabbing.
When officers responded to the 5300 block of Hillflower Drive to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon Wednesday night, they discovered the women, who were both suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police said the elderly woman died as a result of her injuries and the other victim is expected to recover.
The suspect, later identified as Tyler Haskell, was gone when officers arrived. Officers searched the area and found Haskell about a mile away from the home. He was arrested and will be booked at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
